Director of Business Development

Overview

The Director of Business Development is responsible for developing and executing business development strategies that create momentum to support company growth goals. This position is the owner of external relationships, identifying and seeking new opportunities, cultivating meaningful conversations and closing new business.

To sell at Koch Comm, the Director of Business Development must embrace a thoughtful prospecting approach and a consultative, strategy-first sales mentality. At Koch Comm, we don’t sell just for the sake of selling. We provide intentional services that achieve goals and results for well-qualified leads.

Like all positions at Koch Comm, the ability to work both collaboratively and independently is important. A successful person in this role will be able to deeply understand Koch Comm’s services and strategy, cultivate meaningful relationships, thoughtfully communicate internally and externally, as well as successfully manage competing priorities.

New Business Generation & Sales

The Director of Business Development partners closely with internal teams to design and sell integrated solutions that align with client goals and deliver long-term value. This position is responsible for generating and closing new business opportunities that are a good match for our team and expertise. As the first experience new clients have with Koch Comm, this position is charged with driving thoughtful handoffs and alignment following a sale to ensure a smooth and successful onboarding upon signature.

External Relationship Management

While supported by the executive team, The Director of Business Development is the primary owner and driver of Koch Comm’s strategic external relationships and partnerships. This position ensures Koch Comm is well-known by community stakeholders and is a represented brand at key events.

Business Development Leadership

The Director of Business Development is the leader of Koch Comm’s overall strategy and execution as it relates to all business development efforts and processes. This position is responsible for working on strategic initiatives and meeting annual goals, as well as keeping an eye of the future, continually seeking insights on trends, both internally and externally, that might inform our efforts.
